2018

Hello all and Happy New Year!

I realise it might be a bit late into the month to still be saying happy new year, but it has been a while since I wrote one of these.

It’s been a bit of a fumbling start to the new year. After a lovely dinner and catch up session with two of my oldest friends – with the help of a few fireworks – on New Years Eve, and a beautiful, filling family lunch on New Year’s Day, it was once again back to the books to complete my last two assignments of the semester. Snapped back to reality by the looming deadline, it was pretty much non-stop essay writing from the 2nd to the 9th of January, which is the day they were due. I stayed up almost all night as well the night before they were due – do not recommend – so looks like I’m not doing to well for myself in terms of time management. I just hope this doesn’t set the pace for the coming year – time to start working on those resolutions!

I did, thankfully, have a brief period of calm after this was over, and before I had to start revising for my first exam, where I could relax for a moment and take the edge of – which was much needed after clamouring to finish the assignments. As of now I am one exam down and one to go, then it’s reading week, and then the start of a new semester!

I am excited for a lot this year. I have quite a bit of travelling planned, I have all new and very interesting modules lined up, and this also marks the year where I (hopefully) start my placement. 2018 has gotten off to a great albeit slightly clumsy start, but the best is yet to come, and I am looking forward to what the rest of it holds for me. This should be good!

Speak to you all next time.

Until then, for my Kenyan readers, be sure to check out the fair on Saturday 27th January, happening at Serena hotel. You can see details of it here. There will be a representative from Surrey there to answer your questions, so make sure to make the most of it!
