The Department hosts visitors from Colorado, Michigan and Moscow this week

The Department hosted three international visitors this week (18-22 June).  Professor Cecilia Diniz Behn (Colorado School of Mines) visited the MoLSS & SSRC groups and gave a talk on Monday on “What time do you have? Modeling interindividual variability in the human circadian system“.  Professor Victoria Booth (University of Michigan) visited the MoLSS and SSRC groups and gave a talk on Monday on “Modeling sleep-wake regulation: REM sleep mechanisms and dynamics“.  The visit of Cecilia and Victoria is hosted by Anne Skeldon.  Professor Oleg Smolyanov (Moscow State University) visited the DSPDEs group and gave a joint DSPDEs/FSG seminar on Wednesday on “Hamiltonian structure of the second quantization“.  The visit of Oleg is hosted by Anna Kostianko and Sergey Zelik, and is funded by a Scheme 2 grant from the London Mathematical Society.  The photo left shows Anna and Oleg.
