What is MySurrey?

In May 2018 the University’s communications team undertook an audit of student communications at the University which included speaking to a variety of students – undergraduate, postgraduate, placement and distance learning students, to understand which channels are used currently and preferences for the future.

Our first steps in responding to this audit are the development of a new brand for current students, a focus on student-facing social media channels and a desire to promote more user-generated content.

A new brand for current students

MySurrey is a fresh brand for our current students, developed by an external agency with support from student ambassadors, the Students’ Union and other members of our student community.

You can expect to receive MySurrey communications on a regular basis. Please do tell us what you’d like to see more/less of and how we can improve communications for you by emailing mysurrey@surrey.ac.uk – we are very open to ideas and feedback!

Student-facing social media channels

We are also focusing on developing student-facing social media channels that provide content relevant to you and your time at Surrey. If you haven’t already, please follow @SurreyStudent and like the SurreyStudent Facebook page where you will find news, events and content from across campus.

Get involved!

We know that we have a campus full of students creating their own photos, videos and blogs, whether that’s a simple snap on Instagram to show friends and family what you are up to, or a mini-film to promote your club or society. We want to share your content (with credit of course) to show off real student lives at Surrey. So be sure to tag #SurreyMoments when sharing on social media, or get in touch by email if you want to talk about how you can show off your talents online.
