Machine Learning for Signal Processing 2012
I had the opportunity to attend the Machine Learning for Signal Processing (MLSP) Workshop that was held in Santander, Spain from 23 to 26 of September. I decided to join my supervisor Dr Saeid Sanei, even though I didn’t have any submission to this workshop, as it was a great opportunity to meet important people in my research field.
Specifically, the main purpose of my trip was to meet a distinguished Professor, Ali Sayed, who is a guru in the field of adaptive filtering. I had the chance to watch his plenary lecture and have a discussion with him for my project and the challenges I am facing. Apart from this very helpful meeting, I also had the chance to meet Professor Louis Scharf who is much known for his book on statistical signal processing.
Although it was not the first conference I attended, it was by far the most interesting one. The single track structure of the program and the limited number of participants with focused research interests were two key features that madethis workshop worth attending. Moreover the beautiful venue (Palacio De Magdalena) and the city of Santander made my stay even more enjoyable.
Many thanks to the organising committee of MLSP ’12 for their perfect workshop organisation.
