Joey Lam appointed as new Teaching Fellow in Computer Science

Dr Joey Lam will join the University in January as a Teaching Fellow in Computer Science

Dr Joey Lam is currently a Maths tutor with Study Group at the University of Aberdeen.  Joey began her academic life with a PhD in Methods for Resolving Inconsistencies in Ontologies and has taught HNC/D, and computing and maths courses for the foundation year as well as UG and postgraduate level courses.

Professor Helen Treharne, Head of Department said: “It is a pleasure to have Joey join the Department. Joey brings a wealth of experience related to learning, teaching, the student experience and achievement”.

Dr Joey Lam said: “I am delighted to have this opportunity to join the University of Surrey. I enjoy interacting with students from diverse backgrounds, and find I often learn new things from students and get new ideas of teaching methods. I have extensive experience in teaching software development, databases, principles of programming, and I look forward to expanding into new areas also.”

Joey will start on 2 January as a part-time teaching fellow.
