Indian Students Association

Being an Indian student in the University, I find Indian associations and Indian society events very exciting. Living miles away from India, and yet being part of a group of people who share the same culture and tradition as you is amazing. Indian Students Association (ISA) is a part of one of the students union societies within campus that holds Bollywood Dance nights, Diwali Balls, Garba nights etc. The association is also taking part in a Bollywood dance competition called ‘Battle of Bollywood’ which will be hosted in the O2 arena in London on the 8th of March where we will be competing with 9 other universities that include University of Manchester, University of Cambridge etc. I am passionate about dancing, therefore I am a part of this wonderful dance team the association has chosen to take part in the competition. This competition is being collaborated by Lily foundation that is a wonderful organization that works with grassroots NGO’s within UK and helps to prevent human trafficking in various parts of India. This cause is another highlight that made me take part in this event. The university collaborates with various charitable organizations by raising funds and organizing events for the students.

It is not hard to find something you enjoy and follow it to your heart’s desire in this university as there are a wide variety of clubs and societies that cater to many such activities. In case you don’t find something you are interested in, gather a few people and start a new society, as simple as that.
