If you’ve been into the Library over the summer you’ll know it’s been a bit of a building site in places as we refurbish large areas to provide additional study spaces and brand new shelving.
Finally things are starting to take shape with actual books being returned to bright new shelving!
We’re nearly there, but some things to note as we move towards the start of the new academic year:
- All collections will be in their final locations from Monday 2 October. Up until this date you might need to use our ‘fetch and collect’ service and request a book from a member of staff at the Support Hub on Level 1. We’re collecting books that aren’t yet on open access after 3pm each day and will contact you when your book is ready to pick up.
- There are still some floors and spaces that you can’t go into but these should be obvious by the signage and barriers. If in doubt please check with a member of staff.
- Furniture is due to be installed in October and will be fully up and running with all IT in place from Monday 23 October.
You’ll see a huge improvement in the shelving which is transformed from the slightly depressing, narrow, grey stacks to clean white units.
And we can’t wait to show off some fantastic new study spaces!
