EBSCOhost is a research platform providing access to a range of databases across many disciplines.

The new user interface for EBSCOhost launching on Monday 9th June provides some fantastic new features to help improve your research experience. 

Personalised modern dashboards offer an easy way to view your search history as well as save searches and set up alerts, organise your search results and more. 

Search limits and filters are now more intuitive to use allowing you to stay in the results screen and focus on your findings.

Visual Peer Review indicators make it easier to see high quality content in your search results. 

Export and Download options have been streamlined to help you get materials out of a database and onto your computer or into other research tools quickly and easily.

What databases can I search on EBSCOhost?

At Surrey, you have access to a wide range of databases across several disciplines. To access any of these databases, simply search for the database name in SurreySearch.

Sustainability

• GreenFILE – covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles includes content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. 

Health

• APA PsycArticles – Full-text peer-reviewed articles published by the American Psychological Association and affiliated journals.
• APA PsycBooks – Comprehensive collection of full-text scholarly and professional books published by the American Psychological Association (APA)
• APA PsycInfo – The world’s largest resource devoted to peer-reviewed literature in behavioral science and mental health. Produced by the American Psychological Association.
• APA PsycTests – An authoritative source of structured information about tests of interest to a variety of fields. Produced by the American Psychological Association, it provides access to thousands of actual test instruments, most of which are available for immediate download and use in teaching and research.
• CINAHL with Full Text – A collection of 332 active full-text nursing and allied health journals indexed in CINAHL supporting nurses, allied health professionals, researchers, nurse educators and students.
• MEDLINE – An authoritative bibliographic database containing citations and abstracts for biomedical and health journals used by health care professionals, nurses, clinicians and researchers.
• Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection – An essential full-text database for psychologists, counselors, researchers and students. It offers particularly strong coverage in child and adolescent psychology and counseling.
• SPORTDiscus with Full Text – The definitive database for sports and sports medicine research. Providing hundreds of full-text sports medicine journals, it is an essential tool for health professionals and researchers studying fitness, health and sports. 

Business, Hospitality & Tourism, Film & Television

• Business Source Complete – A database covering essential business journals such as Harvard Business Review, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Management Science, Marketing Science, MIS Quarterly, Bloomberg Businessweek, Forbes, Fortune, and many others. With access to 1,811 active full-text journals it supports research in key business areas such as accounting, finance, management, marketing and beyond.
• Film & Television Literature Index with Full Text – The pinnacle resource for researchers of film and television, providing the most comprehensive collection of full text from scholarly and popular sources, and spanning the entire spectrum of film and television studies. 
• Hospitality & Tourism Index – A bibliographic database covering all areas of hospitality and tourism, including hospitality law, market trends and hotel management.
• Regional Business News – A full-text regional business publications for the United States and Canadian provinces. Users can search newspapers, magazines and other resources from trusted news sources. 

Education & Child Development

• British Education Index – Covers all aspects of educational policy and administration, evaluation and assessment, technology and special educational needs. Indexing British education journals, theses and more, this resource is searchable by educational level and age group.
• Child Development & Adolescent Studies – References to the current and historical literature related to growth and development of children through the age of 21.
• Education Abstracts (H.W. Wilson) – An education research database providing high-quality indexing and abstracts for hundreds of journals. Coverage spans all levels of education and includes adult education, multicultural education and teaching methods.
• Educational Administration Abstracts –  A database providing bibliographic records covering all areas of educational administration, including educational leadership, educational management and educational research. 
• ERIC – An authoritative database of indexed and full-text education literature and resources. Sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences of the U.S. Department of Education, it is an essential tool for education researchers of all kinds.
