Exam and revision study space

Welcome back to another blog! Since exam season is upon us, this blog will mostly focus on different study spaces on campus provided by the University.

The Library

This is the largest and most popular study space amongst students and is open 24 hours (Monday-Sunday). The library consists of 5 different floors, each with different environments. Some floors are designated to silent study only and some are more group-study friendly to accommodate to every students preference. There are also private rooms which can be booked beforehand for group study through this link: https://bookastudyspace.surrey.ac.uk/isisroombooking.dll/EXEC/0/162y8231jxk316158dbv81xsr2nn

There is an eating area on the ground floor of the library which has vending machines for snacks and drinks which is perfect for a long night of studying!

MySurrey Spark

This is located at Senate House, Level 2 and is a great study space for collaboration and innovation. You can expect group study spaces and pods, bookable rooms for shared work and conversations as well as student enterprise and entrepreneurial events and workshops. Free stationary is also provided (depending on stock availability) and the opening hours: 8:30am – 11:30pm (365 days a year)

MySurrey Hive

This is one of my personal favorites with flexible seating, booths with TV screens and bookable study rooms all available from 8:30am-11:30pm 7 days a week. There is also a tea and coffee station which makes it a great place to not just study but also hang out with friends!

IFH building and PCs

This is the Innovation for Health Building which has a designated lab on the first floor for Computer science students such as myself. All of our lab classes are held here and we have 24/7 access to it with the use of our student IDs. With 24/7 access and vending machines on the ground floor, this is a great spot for computer science students to visit during exam season!

There are 100’s of PCs available across campus, also available 24/7 and can be seen on a map of the university through this link: https://labs.surrey.ac.uk/map.aspx

Vet school (Main building): first floor rooms

The main building for veterinary students is not located on the Stag hill campus, but instead at Manor Park. The opening times for the study rooms on the first floor are:

Monday – Friday: 5pm-10pm

Saturday – Sunday: 12(noon) – 10pm
