2013 graduate wins Experimental Psychology Society / British Science Association Undergraduate Project Prize

Congratulations to Punit Shah, who graduated from Surrey with a 4-year BSc Psychology degree in July 2013. He has won the Experimental Psychology Society / British Science Association Undergraduate Project Prize in Psychology, for his final year research project “A realistic view of unrealistic optimism”. Punit’s dissertation was supervised by Dr Caroline Catmur.

This is a fantastic achievement, as Punit’s work was in competition with the top dissertation projects from each of the other UK Psychology departments. Punit has been invited to present his dissertation research at an EPS meeting in 2014, and at the British Science Festival in Birmingham in September 2014. Punit is now studying for a PhD at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London.
