Tractatus Philosophiae Discipulus: Introduction Part (1/2),

(Korean version underneath)

I understand that this may seem not related to my university life, but it is crucial to start from the beginning of my thoughts to eventually reach my view of the ‘truth’ of my life as an University student in a step-by-step manner. (2 part introduction)

  1. A ‘start’ is a basis that is intrinsically true, that one can base arguments on it.
    1. The above supposition itself is a start which defines purpose.
    2. A basis is a start of an argument.
    3. The existence of a start is justified by itself.
    4. Therefore, there must exist a relationship between purpose and existence.

  1. The justification of existence is its purpose and the justification of purpose is its existence.
    1. The purpose may be of potential nature and may not be realised in the immediate notion.
    2. Therefore, it is possible to not understand the purpose.
    3. Existence has no potential nature, there is no ‘potential existence’ only it is existent or not.
    4. A concept or an idea is still an existence as it is.
    5. Language exists to convey the existence among entities (beings that are existent).
    6. ‘It’ denotes an entity of arbitrary existence.
    7. The notion of truth is derived from language and the fact that we can express truth with language implies that ‘truth’ exists.
    8. Therefore ‘truth’ must have a purpose.

  1. The purpose of truth is to dictate as a differentiative start.
    1. Truth, therefore must be based on/defined by an objective agreement.
    2. Objectivity implies uniqueness, but it is only in the conceptual area that truth is unique.
    3. As I am using a human language, I can only comprehend or result in conclusions about ‘existences’ in the human paradigm.
    4. As human beings, the existence of each of us carries a different purpose as each and every one of us have a different start.
    5. If the definition of ‘truth’ is given by human beings, then there cannot exist a unique truth.
    6. Therefore, truth can only be defined cyclically and paradoxically under the assumption of the definition of ‘start’.
    7. Hence, we can propose a type of truth that can be used to formulate arguments in a more useful way.

  1. Subjective truth is the start that an individual human being accepts as a ‘truth’, a differentiative start.
    1. All the propositions in this post and posts to come are subjective truths to the written individual.
    2. A subjective truth can be promoted into an objective truth when every human being agrees unanimously about the subjective truth.
    3. That ‘truth’ must be unique.
    4. Therefore, as an individual, one cannot attain the definitive/supreme truth
    5. An individual can use language and logic to attempt to attain the objective truth.
    6. Therefore the purpose of human life is to attempt to attain the true purpose, despite the knowledge that it is unattainable.
