On Saturday 25 October 70 international and EU students were introduced to the history of Guildford. Starting with a welcome by the Mayor of Guildford Cllr David Elms in the Guildhall, they were then split into four groups and were taken on a guided tour of the town itself.
“It was a pleasure to take them around. My group had lots of good questions and interesting comments. Looking forward to next year!” said Val Bale, one of the official Guildford Town Guides who gave up their Saturday afternoon to help with the event.
Following the success of this event, the International Student Support team will be working with the Mayor’s office to help Guildford celebrate Commonwealth Day in March with some of our students from Commonwealth countries around the world.
