The Student Life team organised a social event for all students at the University who are aged under 18 last week. We wanted to provide an opportunity for this group of students to get together and meet other students who are not yet aged 18. Students aged under 18 are a group who have told us they often feel isolated, especially at the start of the year as friendships are being established and many students are going out to events in the evening which they are too young for. We targeted this event at our students living within our accommodation, but any other student aged under 18 was of course very welcome to attend. The event was free of charge. We had a small group of 10 students who attended, with the event being supported by 5 of our friendly and helpful Student Life Mentors. Those students who attended had a great time meeting other students, playing games, and a serious gingerbread decoration competition was a highlight of the evening for many.
