Hey!
It has been a whirlwind of a week jam-packed with two rugby world cup games! My dad made a special trip out to see the competition and let me tag along for the Ireland vs Romania game and the Wales vs Fiji game. They were spectacular. The atmosphere was amazing and the competition was real. It gave me the opportunity to go into London to Wembley stadium and travel to Cardiff, Wales.
Both events, but especially Wales were buzzing with excitement. It was so amazing to see a home game of Wales vs Fiji. The Welsh really know how to be spirited. The high street was packed with people coming out to support the team before the game started. Inside the stadium there was constant cheering and songs being sang. They revival the level of spirit of the Americans 😉
Events like these are just one of the many reasons why I chose to come to Surrey and have loved being here ever since. We are in an epicentre for events and culture that is never ending. From the Olympic Games in 2012 to the Rugby World Cup in 2015, there are constantly massive and renowned events happening. Especially with our proximity to London, seeing concerts, West End plays (England’s version of Broadway), comedy shows, and anything else you could think of becomes trivial.
For instance, I have Top Gear Live booked for November, Tame Impala booked for February, and already have seen The Book of Mormon and Britain’s Got Talent since arriving here last year. Events like Britain’s Got Talent are free. I just signed up on a mailing list from the Applause Store and they constantly inform me of TV audience events you can attend. It is great entertainment for the price of a train to London. If you do not want to travel outside of Guildford, entertainment is never far. GLive has concerts, plays, and comedy shows on constantly. I have a comedy show for Jim Davidson booked for this month 🙂

On another note, it is the Fresher’s Fayre today, so I hope everyone went and signed up for at least one thing! I signed up for Cheerleading and have been deemed the guest speaker at the All American Bar Crawl hosted by the American Football team, Cheerleading team, and Lacrosse team. We shall see how this goes 🙂
