The Heart of Campus: Why I Love Surrey University Campus.

I’m a 3rd-year Media and Communication student, so most certainly, I have spent hundreds of hours in the library of the University of Surrey, and is always around Co-op, sometimes simply because it allows you grab a quick munch while study is very intense. The University of Surrey library is definitely more than just a place with books; it’s a hub for learning, collaboration, and personal growth.

Space for Every Study Style

This might be the reason why the Library is such a great place for studying: there are different kinds of study spaces to suit your need or preference. The quiet zone provides the right environment for the writer of marathon essays, while the group study areas encourage conversation and brainstorming. I have been able to come up with some really great project ideas while sitting around a table with fellow students and bouncing one idea off the next.

More Than Just Books

Of course, there are books covering practically every media theory and PR strategy imaginable, but what would that be without access to online journals, databases, and digital resources? This has saved my life in carrying out most research.

Closing Time Comes Too Soon!

It felt like your typical library and definitely wasn’t open 24 hours a day like you might think; no, it actually closes at about seven or eight in the evening. It dealt me a serious plan on how and what to study when; certainly, at times to me, it seemed that it could have been open for more hours, especially when deadlines were going crazy. But that was a lesson of time management for me. And when you need to continue, there’s always the MySurrey Hive or any other study spot around the campus- so lucky us!

A Place of Belonging

In the Library , I have not only found a place to study but also a place where I relate with others, share in struggles like the pressure of deadlines, and celebrate small victories. Be it spending long hours late at night preparing for the finals or looking for a comfortable corner where I can read in peace, the Library has become an important part of my university life.

And in becoming a student in Surrey, you will very quickly realize that this is more than just a study space. To many of us, it is almost like a second home.
