17:00-19:00 Thursday 4 March 2021
Curious about starting your own business, but put off by the thought of lengthy business planning documents? Is so, this highly practical session is for you. We’ll be joined by the highly experienced, Janet Preston,* who will be introducing the Business Model Canvas and sharing practical steps to getting started with your business plan. During the session, we’ll be working in small groups to help apply the building blocks of the Business Model Canvas to setting up a fictional business. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to ask questions and we’ll be sharing useful resources during and after the session. Don’t feel you need to have a business idea to join the session.
Like all our IoD events, this will a great opportunity to meet other researchers and develop your virtual networking skills, whilst learning more about the practicalities of business planning.
The event is open to all Postgraduate and Early Career Researchers. You do not need to be an IoD Student Member to join and you’ll be able to find out more about the IoD student membership benefits at the event.
