When I was deciding which university to choose for my global exchange, the University of Surrey stood out as the perfect choice. The chance to study innovative subjects like Cybercrime, AI Regulation, Medical Law, and Privacy and Data Governance felt incredibly relevant to how our world is evolving.

Surrey’s approach to these subjects made my decision easy. The modules delve into both theory and practical applications, which is perfect for someone passionate about the intersection of technology, healthcare, and law. The similarities between English and New Zealand law made England the ideal destination for my exchange.

Another highlight was the university’s location in Guildford. It offers a peaceful, study-friendly environment with easy access to London’s bustling atmosphere. With just a short train ride to central London, career and cultural opportunities are always close by. At the same time, Guildford’s picturesque scenery and vibrant student life provide the perfect setting for a balanced experience.

Surrey Sports Park was also a significant factor in my decision. As someone who enjoys staying active, having access to facilities like the gym, swimming pool, rock climbing wall, and squash courts was a huge draw. Staying active is a big part of my life, and these facilities have made it easy to maintain my routine while trying new activities.

Another reason I chose Surrey was the excellent support it provides for exchange students. The university made the transition to studying abroad seamless, offering resources and guidance every step of the way. I felt reassured knowing I would join a diverse, inclusive community where I could thrive academically and socially.

Ultimately, I chose Surrey because it offered everything I was looking for a chance to study topics I’m passionate about, a welcoming and supportive academic environment, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
