Before the traveling series continues, this may be a good time to welcome all the refreshers and talk about our upcoming events!
Let’s be frank, not knowing what to do during spare time, or having no certain hobbies is one of the greatest common concern that we, all students might encounter. As an ambassador, I am more than used to prospect telling me that they are worried about making friends or finding things to do in their spare time. Well, I assure you, this certainly is not the case for the majority of students studying here in Surrey – our Students’ Union has it all sorted out!
Active Refreshers
Before picking up yourself a new hobby, you may wonder what it’s like to be doing certain sport or worry if that suits you. Fear not, we have got it all sorted out. On 12th Feb, which is tomorrow, there will be an Active Refreshers for those of you who have the above concerns to try out certain sports item at Surrey Sports Park, or off-site.
All sessions are free, in other words, all you need to do is just to show up there and the members of the club will get your started! But do aware that you might still need your own equipments for some of the sports such as boots for Football and basic swimwear for Scuba Diving.

Refreshers Fair
Missed the Active Refreshers or what you have been thinking to do was not a sports item? Don’t stop there yet! Come to the Refreshers Fair where there will be stands of different clubs and societies. It is open for all students and will take place on the upcoming Tuesday, 14th February from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m housing in The Marquee on PATs Field in Stag Hill Campus, it is all free and a great opportunity for you to get yourself started with a new hobby whilst bagging loads of freebies!
So if you are new to Surrey, this the a perfect opportunity so come along, talk to the members of different clubs and ready to make some new friends. Try something new or simply develop your current hobbies to make the most of your experience here in Surrey!
P.S. The 9 – 10 a.m. time slot is designated for students who prefer to browse the fair without hustle and bustle that comes with the crowd, so don’t forget to book yourself in by tapping here 😉
