From Friday 17th December, during the out of semester period, work on the Library extension will be stepped up to make progress while the Library building is quieter. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

Work in the Library

20 December 2010- 09 January 2010, reopening 10 January 2011

Library Level 1 IT area will be accessed from the east stairs only. The route from the main staircase will be closed to allow preparation for floor levels changes and demolition takes place. PCs located on Levels 2, 3, 4 and 5 will also be available.

20 December 2010 – 7 January 2011

Restricted access to Library Level 2 due to upgrade of lighting and floor levels work. We will be operating a fetch and collect service to retrieve journals from the cordoned off area. The Law area and PCs on this floor will be unaffected.

20 December -7 January 2011

East staircase adjacent to the building site will be closed off in stages for modification and water main works for the new building. There will also be some noisy work in advance for short periods during the week beginning 13 December. The main Library staircase and lift will be available throughout but there may be short periods of restricted access on particular floors. This will be signposted as the work progresses.

The South Walkway will be closed.

5 January 2011 – 7 January

Removal of the crane will require cordoning off of the area for the safety of pedestrians. Access to the main entrance will be unaffected during periods the Library is open.
