Check your Library emails to prevent fines

Now that we’re automatically renewing books on your behalf, it is really important that you check your student email address for any emails sent to you by the Library.

This is because we will get in touch by email if we need you to do something – for example, return a book because it has been requested by another user. If you do not check your emails and fail to return something on time, you risk being fined £2 per day, per overdue item.

From time to time, however, we will also send you through a courtesy monthly statement, called: ‘Your Library account summary.’ This tells you what you have out on loan, your current book requests and any outstanding fines. You don’t need to do anything when you receive this letter – simply check that everything is in order, and if you spot anything amiss, get in touch with us straight away via library-enquiries@surrey.ac.uk
