Winter Vacation Library opening and service hours
For those remaining on Campus the Library will be open from 8 am to 12 midnight from 11 December to 26 December. Library staff are available Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm until 22 December and then from 8 am on 3 January. 24 hour opening starts again from 27 December. Our security team will staff the Library during the closure period from 23 December to 2 January.
The Computer Labs in the Austin Pearce building will be open 24/7 when the Library is closed.
Customer Services staff will be checking emails on 27, 28, and 29 December if you have an urgent enquiry.

Books and more!
Your loans will continue to renew automatically every 7 days unless requested by another student. Please continue to check your University emails until 22 December as this is how the Library will let you know if you need to return a book. If you have been asked to return a book and you are not on Campus please contact library@surrey.ac.uk for further advice.
Loans will not be recalled between 23 December and 2 January. Our Click and Post service will resume again on 3 January so don’t forget to check your emails again then!

Install the LibKey Nomad web browser extension for free as a University of Surrey student. LibKey Nomad will link you directly to articles subscribed to by the Library and open access alternatives as you research on the Internet.
Inter-Library Loans
Inter-Library loans can only be issued by Library Staff, Monday – Friday from 8 am to 5pm until 22 December (however Library staff will be unavailable from 12:30 pm on Wednesday 20th). Staff can issue Inter-Library loans again from 8 am on 3rd January. Please note the ILL service will not be staffed between these dates. Please remember that you can only return loans during staffed hours.
We cannot guarantee that any ILL requests for books that are placed after 8th December will be supplied before the University closes for Christmas.

Research Data Management Drop-in
Tuesdays 8 am – 1:30 pm, Research Data Management Drop-in Session, for researchers, just inside the Library gates on Level 1. IT Services
The Helpdesk in the Library will be staffed 1 – 4:00 pm w/c 11 and 18 December. The Helpdesk will close on 22 December and re-open on 3 January. The out of hours service is available during this time.
