International Day of Women and Girls in Science

February 11th is International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

The Archives team have curated a display of material from the University Archive that celebrates five female who studied or worked at the University of Surrey or at our predecessor institution, Battersea Polytechnic.

We were delighted that Dr Noelia E. D. Noël | University of Surrey and Dr Izabela Jurewicz | University of Surrey were able to join us to celebrate the achievements of women scientists at the University of Surrey by viewing material from the display relating to Professor Daphne Jackson, the first female Professor of Physics in the UK.

Excitingly Dr Jurewicz had to dash off to receive a Research and Innovation Award UKRI announces Future Leaders Fellowships Impact Awards winners – UKRI from UK Research and Innovation – congratulations Izabela 🏆 👏👏👏
