About me

Roberta Magnani

Before being appointed at Swansea, Roberta completed a PhD at Cardiff University. Her doctoral dissertation engaged with the early manuscripts of Geoffrey Chaucer’s works with a specific focus on the materiality of these codices (illuminations, glosses and titles) as evidence of early reception of Chaucer. Her research is underpinned by a broad engagement with manuscript studies, scrutinised through a post-structuralist framework. This theoretical approach comprises Michel Foucault’s revisions of historiography and the contiguous debates on translation practices and queer theories.
