The University of Surrey hosted a Surrey UCAS convention on the 16th & 17th of March at the Surrey Sports Park which took place from 9am to 3pm. Surrey UCAS Higher Education Convention 2015 that brings together over 155 Higher Education Institutions and professional organisations from across the UK. Some of the Universities present were Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, Imperial, Bristol, Bath and so many more! As a student ambassador, I was fortunate to be a part of the event as a student helper (in striking red T) and was in charge of directing students to the different seminars and of course, crowd control. Assisting me was a Malaysian student ambassador, we were both given this HUGE hand sign that read “seminars” (photo below!) It was extremely good fun and an excellent experience although very tiring! Fun also because for once people were actually obeying our orders! heh.
The seminars held were:
1) Applying to Cambridge & Oxford, 2) Student Life, 3) Applying to the University, 4) Student Finance
Excellent experience overall and I would definitely encourage students, especially international students who are looking to further their studies in the UK to visit upcoming UCAS conventions!
