Hi everyone,

Continuing with the 2nd half of the road trip in Germany involves crossing the border into Switzerland. Once again, it’s just going to be a preview where I select some of my favourites before I come back and talk about in a later post.

This 2nd half covers the following route: Switzerland -> Liechtenstein -> Germany. Instead of choosing 2 in every city, I’ve decided to pick one at every destination, which made a little bit more sense. Keeping in mind that I’m still on the move, this one will be another short post.

Welcome to the massive Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. It’s apparently Europe’s biggest waterfall but I’m going to verify that when I do my detailed post the next time. Seriously though, this was a thing of natural beauty that left me in awe for the whole afternoon.

Zurich: Often misidentified as the capital of Switzerland. It is still the largest Swiss city though. This here, is the signature shot of Zurich. The view from Quaibrücke of River Limaat where you can see the Großmünster, Fraumünster and St Peter (which has the largest church clock in Europe).

Chapel Bridge, Lucerne. My parents came here many years ago, just a couple of months before the big fire burned a portion of it so it was good for them to see it in a state they used to remember from almost 3 decades ago.

Crossing back into Germany via Austria, we got to the Germany’s most visited castle… The Neuschwanstein Castle. It’s worthwhile to climb up further on after Marienbrücke although it’s quite a climb so wear good shoes that will give you a better grip on the rocks.

And finally, München (Munich). I’ve been here multiple times, but this was the only time where I’ve come into the Oktoberfest period. It’s also the first time I see that the Frauenkirche (Cathedral of our Lady) with both towers. The South Tower is still undergoing renovations and it was completely covered the last few times I was here so it’s good to see that the renovation is almost complete.
