Welcoming summer (and scholarships)! ♣

Hi everybody!

Finally a blog post after 2 months. It has been one very busy semester for me here, also with the Easter break in between. Having at least 4 lectures a day is pretty exhausting, with a lot of catching up to do.

A very interesting thing to mention this season: it is actually hot this week. This sudden surge in temperature has got everyone excited and if you were here, you can see groups of friends enjoying the sun by the lake! I cant stop talking about the weather, nobody can, in England. And I bet that you will too as soon as you set your feet in this country! Trees are starting to blossom around the University and its such a beautiful sight!

Thank you very much for contacting me with your questions, it is so lovely to talk to you all, and I am very much looking forward to meet all of you this September ♥♥♥, I believe you are equally enthusiastic about coming to Surrey! 🙂

I receive many emails about scholarships and part time work…So, I thought I will give a general overview!

There are a number of scholarships provided by the University and you can find them in the link below:

They are the only ones available from the University, however, they are a number of scholarships available from the British council as well.

Here’s a list of recently revised scholarships that you may find useful:

Scholarships to Study in the UK | Top Universities:
http://www.topuniversities.com/student-info/scholarship-advice/scholarships-study-uk

The top universities link contains a list of scholarships available to international students in the UK.

FOR MOST SCHOLARSHIPS, THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENT IS THAT YOU NEED TO GET A GOOD GRADE IN YOUR UNDERGRADUATE COURSE. PREFERABLY, FIRST CLASS.

There are plenty of part time work available inside the University and also in the Guildford town centre. However, international students are restricted to 20 hours of work per week. The typical pay is between £7.20-£10.00 per hour, based on the national minimum wage. These jobs are typically retail or restaurant jobs.

Feel free to email me at india@surrey.ac.uk and I’d be happy to answer your questions!

I love talking about the amazing place I study in!

Looking forward to see you in Surrey!!
