Varisty 2016 !

LET’S GO SURREY LET’S GO !!  Varisty is a day where Surrey celebrates a day of sports where all the Team Surrey Sports teams will play competitvely against the sports teams from Kingston University. This has been the 6th Year in a row we have won Kingston’s sports teams overall. Hence our ‘motto’ is… we Rather be a Stag than a Cougar… a Winner than a Loser. (cause what is a cougar anyways…)

I spent the entire day at the sports park since 11am watching the Badminton men’s team smash it against the Kingston Badminton teams. Following that, I watched other sports such as taekwondo, fencing, rock climbing and of course the FINALE was the most epic part of all.

The Finale was in the Sports Arena where they set up a spectators stand for surrey team members to cheer on for our Surrey Basketball team. It was all so exciting to watch, especially hearing the crowd stand and cheer in the bleachers whenver our University scored a point. The loud buzzer buzzed through the arena and the crowd went wild.

It was such an amazing experience to be cheering for our amazing all time winning Team SURREY aka the champions 6th time in a row. All the matches were free entry as well, so thats why i literally spent the entire day in the sports park… without doing any sport. haha

It felt like I was at a real live Basketball game with the LED screens lit up to projet up the scores!

That’s my friend Heidi, she totally kicked Kingston University’s butt at Taekwondo.

The after party that night was really amazing as well, everyone who got a Varsity ticket which entitled them to a Tshirt and ticket to the party was so ready to celebrate that night, being so proud of our Surrey Team again.

See you next year Kingston… or not. haha 🙂
