Introducing Joachim…

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to this section on the Surrey Meets Africa blog, where I will share a personal perspective on life as a Postgraduate student at the University of Surrey, as well as academic and social events associated with being a student.

My name is Joachim Mangilima, I am a Postgraduate student at Surrey Business School doing a Master’s of Science degree in Business Analytics.

The front side of Rik Medlik (Surrey Business School Building) building.

I am from Tanzania, a country located on the Eastern coast of the African continent. Am excited to be the first student ambassador at Surrey from this beautiful country. This will provide me with plenty of opportunities to talk about Tanzania in addition to sharing about student life on this blog. I’d also like to use this platform to enable Tanzanians and other African prospective students learn more about what it’s like to study at the University of Surrey and in the United Kingdom. I know for a fact that if I had known about this blog’s wealth of resources when I first started my path to become a student at Surrey, my life would have been a lot easier than it was.

So hold on to your seats and follow keenly as I share this adventure with you in the course of 2021/2022 academic year.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to learn more about the topics I’ll be discussing.

Till the next post,

Asante Sana (Thank You, in Swahili, Native Language in Tanzania).
