This course is specifically designed for doctoral students, especially those in the early stages of their PhD. Typically, classes meet once a week for 2 hours and 50 minutes each. Topics covered include the writing process, academic language, critical reading and note-taking, oral presentations, academic referencing, writing research proposals, and working with supervisors. At the end of the course, students are required to submit a critical review of an article in their field of expertise and deliver an oral presentation on specific aspects or areas of their PhD research.
