Dear knowledge mobilisers,
We’ve got three exciting updates to share with you:
- 9th October 2019: Women Researchers and the UK Parliament event – apply for a place and promote to your colleagues
- New “what shall I do next?” page on our Research Impact web hub – to help you support your colleagues plan their engagement with Parliament
- Parliamentary Academic Fellowships review – and next round information
We hope you find this information useful. If you would prefer not to receive opportunities and updates from us, please reply to this email to let me know.
- Women Researchers and the UK Parliament event
We’re delighted to be running this event on 9th October 2019 in Westminster. Please do encourage researchers at your institution to apply for a place and feel free to apply yourself also. We think that places will go quickly, so be quick!
Join us to celebrate women researchers’ impact on the UK Parliament, learn more about how to engage with Parliament as a researcher, and contribute ideas to strengthen Parliament’s work with women researchers. This subsidised event in Westminster on 9th October 2019, run by UK Parliament’s Knowledge Exchange Unit, is open to all from the research community. It includes a networking session sponsored by Emerald Publishing. Find out more and apply for a free place here.
- New “what shall I do next?” page on the Parliament website
We’ve added a new page to our researchers’ web hub which aims to take you through the first steps of working with Parliament, as well as how to think about taking it further. We hope this will be useful for you as you support colleagues to engage with Parliament, as well as for individual researchers. You can find this page here: https://www.parliament.uk/get-involved/research-impact-at-the-uk-parliament/what-next/. If you have any feedback on this or any of our webpages, please do send it to me or Sarah so that we can make it the best possible resource.
- Parliamentary Academic Fellowships review
We have published a short review of our pilot parliamentary academic fellowship scheme. The scheme will reopen in Winter 2019/20, with more information available on our fellowships page in Autumn 2019.
As always, do let me or Sarah know if there’s anything we can do to support you and your colleagues to engage with Parliament.
Best wishes
Naomi and Sarah
