3MT Goes Virtual! And all postgraduate research students are invited to participate

We are still running the 2020 Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition  and invite all postgraduate research students to participate.

3MT is a great opportunity to challenge yourself and develop your research communication skills. To explain more about how the Surrey competition will work this year we are offering the following:

  • Three Minute Thesis – Full Training and Official Rules via zoom: 28th April 10- 12.00 noon

The workshop will help you to build your confidence and competence at communicating your research and now with the bonus of developing virtual filmmaking tips and how to set up a professional video frame scheduled

The workshop will help you to prepare your submission of a recorded 3MT Video. Please log into Surrey Self Service to register.

The deadline for submission of your recorded 3MT video will be 11th May with an initial judging panel selecting 6 shortlisted competitors to be entered into the University of Surrey Finals. The 2020 final will take place on Thursday 4th June by a virtual judging panel chaired by Prof David Sampson (Vice-Provost, Research and Innovation), along with Kate Gleeson and last year’s Surrey winner. Judge’s choice and People’s Choice winners will be announced as part of the Doctoral College Conference 22-23 June 2020
