PhD studentships
Surrey has funding for 8 project-led studentships to start in January 2021. The funding package for studentships will cover:
- Full UK/EU tuition fee waiver
- Stipend at UKRI rates (circa £15,000 pa)
- Personal computer (provided by host department)

Individual Development Awards
ARC KSS is accepting applications from individuals seeking support to develop applied research projects. At least 6 awards will be made starting on 1st April 2021 and for a maximum of £20,000 (inclusive of 25% co-funding from individuals employing organisation) over 1 year. Projects must closely align to one or more of the ARC KSS research themes and the attached ARC KSS research funding approach document.
Deadline: 30th October 2020 at 5pm.

‘Towards changing practice’ project funding
ARC KSS is seeking to support innovative applied research projects focusing on implementing novel ideas with the potential to change health or social care practice for the benefit of the public, patients, service user and/or service providers. Projects must be undertaken within an ARC KSS member organisation(s) or by a member of staff from an ARC KSS member organisation. Up to £100,000 (inclusive of 25% co-funding) will be awarded to individual projects over a maximum duration of 2 years. Projects must start by 1st May 2021 and must closely align to one or more of the ARC KSS research themes and the ARC KSS research funding approach document.
Deadline: This will be a two-stage funding process with Expression of Interest applications being accepted by 30th October 2020 at 5pm.
