Con-Serve™ is certified as ISO 50001 compliant and allows for a correlation of consumption to other metrics such as hotel’s occupancy, restaurant’s food covers or outside temperatures. We are currently developing our mobile app fluttr, as part of an innovation competition funded by the UK Government.    Considerate Group also provides advisory services to the hospitality sector, covering the environmental, social and governance dimensions of sustainability. This includes, but is not limited to, developing holistic strategies, delivering workshops, corporate sustainability reporting, and the provision of various sustainability toolkits.    A growing team of dedicated hospitality and sustainability specialists, Considerate Group currently operates out of London, Munich and New York, servicing clients worldwide.

Key Duties/Tasks To carry out research to ensure Considerate Group can successfully promote and sell Con-Serve™, and associated consultancy services, into the United States hospitality market.  With an initial focus on the areas of New England, New York City and Washington DC.   The Lead Markets Researcher will:  1. Identify the size and make-up of the hotel market; hotel properties within the research area and headquarters of asset managers who might operate hotel properties within the research area as well as within different states/or countries.   2. Create a database of key local (research area) and national legislations & drivers affecting operational sustainability.   3. Collate and summarise useful, recent (published within the past 3 years) studies relating to tourism &/or sustainability within the research area.   4. Identify and categorise sustainable data technologies already used, within the research area, for resource consumption monitoring.   5. For the research area, identify data availability and connectivity barriers and opportunities.   6. Conduct a competitor’s analysis & identify partnership opportunities (sustainability and energy consultancies).   7. Identify key promotional opportunities for Con-Serve™ and Considerate Group service.   Ultimately, as result of the above research, Considerate Group require a set of market growth recommendations to support a new strategy for expanding product and service delivery within the North East of the USA.”  
Knowledge & Skills Required Interests                 An interest in environmental and social sustainability and hospitality Interested in working in a dynamic start-up environment     Knowledge Knowledge of climate change, sustainability, or non-financial reporting, along with legislative, market and voluntary market developments, particularly in sustainability and the hospitality sector. Tech-savvy, with an understanding of low energy/carbon technologies and operational interventions designed to meet carbon reduction strategies.    Skills Advanced research skills, with fluent written and spoken EnglishHighly organised and pro-active project management skills Excellent communication skills with an ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms Excellent attention to detail; confident quality assuring own work.Self-driven and reliable                                
Skills postgraduate researcher will have an opportunity to develop Commercial analytical skills.Strategy development for growth in a new market.Knowledge of sustainability data technology applications in the hotel sector in the USA.

Successful candidates will be paid by the university a maximum of £1,200 per month to cover living expenses.  Preference will be given to those PGRs who are not in receipt of UKRI funding.
