Director of The Doctoral College steps down
Dr Kate Gleeson is stepping down as Director of the Doctoral College. Her three-year term as Director came to an end in August and she generously agreed to continue slightly beyond that date to assist the University during a period of change.
In recognition of her leadership service, Kate will be commencing a sabbatical on 1 November 2022, before leaving the University at the end of April 2023.
Many of you may have met with or been supported by Kate during her time as Director. In recognition of Kate’s contribution, Professor Tim Dunne, Provost and Senior Vice-President wanted to share the following message with our PGR and ECR community:
“On behalf of the University, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the leadership Kate has given the Doctoral College over an extended time period. Kate and her staff have created an institution that has served, and continues to serve, our PGRs and early career researchers with distinction. We wish Kate well as she enters a new phase in her academic career.”
Arrangements are currently being finalised to confirm interim arrangements for the leadership of the Doctoral College; we will be announcing those as soon as possible.
