Hi, my name is Kiran, and I am studying for the MSc Digital Marketing programme at the University of Surrey, I had the incredible opportunity to study at the NHH Norwegian School of Economics, the leading business school in Bergen, Norway. This experience was instrumental in enhancing my personal and professional growth, making me a more competitive candidate in the global job market.
At NHH, I developed critical cross-cultural communication skills through the Studying and Working Successfully Across Cultures course. Collaborating with peers from diverse backgrounds challenged me to understand varying communication styles and work approaches. I honed my ability to navigate cultural differences, build trust, and foster collaboration—skills that are essential in digital marketing for creating campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences.

Additionally, I studied Consumer Behaviour, gaining valuable insights into the psychological factors influencing consumer decision-making. This understanding allows me to create data-driven, customer-focused strategies that drive engagement and optimise user experiences.
The Commercialisation of Innovation course taught me how to bring innovative ideas and products to market effectively by transforming creative concepts into viable business solutions.
Meanwhile, International Marketing equipped me to analyse global market trends and tailor strategies to diverse cultural contexts. These skills have prepared me to design campaigns that drive growth and innovation while reaching international audiences.
Learning Norwegian further enhanced my ability to connect with Scandinavian markets, strengthening my cultural understanding and ability to build localised content and relationships.
Exploring Norway provided inspiration I can channel into my career. Travelling across the country, I witnessed incredible landscapes and wildlife, from orcas and humpback whales in the Arctic to reindeer in the wild. Experiences like seeing the Aurora Borealis, skiing in Voss, and hiking snow-capped mountains enhanced my creativity, resilience, and appreciation for storytelling—qualities that enrich my approach to digital marketing.

This opportunity strengthened my adaptability, global perspective, and innovative thinking, equipping me to thrive in the fast-paced digital marketing industry. The skills and experiences I gained during my time at NHH make me uniquely positioned to manage multicultural teams, and open doors internationally.
During my time at NHH, I was honored to receive a scholarship, which significantly benefited my studies and overall experience. It alleviated financial pressures, allowing me to focus more on my academic growth rather than worrying about financial constraints.
