So it’s our summer break, which means it’s vacation time! Next to Lanzarote, we have another island perfect for sun sea sand holiday. From the depths of the Atlantic Ocean to the heights of Teide Mountain, and everything in between- Tenerife is indeed a paradise for both adventure seekers and nature lovers.
- Diving into the Depths
What’s better than starting your vacation with some stress relieving dives?
Indeed, diving into the crystal-clear waters of Tenerife is breathtaking as the island is renowned for its vibrant marine life and stunning underwater landscapes. And as we descend into the ocean, we may see schools of colorful fish, intricate coral reefs, and some breathtaking views offered by the wrecks.
The sensation of weightlessness and the serenity of the underwater world were truly mesmerizing.
- Soaring Above the Island
Offering a completely different perspective of Tenerife, paragliding is another must do adventure on the island!
As we drive up to the mountain in Costa Adeje, we launched from high up there. The panoramic view is assured to be breathtaking; along with the rugged coastline, lush green hills as well as the sparkling blue ocean stretching out to the horizon.
- Stargazing on Teide Mountain
What must not be missed when you are in Tenerife?
I shall say, stargazing on Teide Mountain- Spain’s highest peak and one of the best places on earth to observe the beautiful night sky, or even the Milky Way should be it!
As the sun set and the mountain being enveloped by the darkness, the sky transformed into a celestial wonderland- you can even see the breathtaking Milky Way! (well it’s not that visible to naked eye but you may spot its presence in vague, it’s actually something)
With the help of a knowledgeable guide and a powerful telescope, I had the chance to see some distant galaxies, nebula, and planets in astonishing detail. The clarity of the stars and the vastness of the universe was what left me in awe, reminding me of the beauty and mystery of our cosmos.
- Exploring Tenerife’s Charming Towns
In addition to those adrenaline-pumping activities, don’t forget to take some time to explore Tenerife’s charming towns.
Garachico, with its cobbled streets and historic architecture, felt like stepping back in time. Wandering through some quaint alleys, and enjoy some sun lights as sea breeze kisses your cheek.
Next to Garachico, don’t forget Icod de los Vinos, famous for its centuries-old dragon tree. This picturesque town offered a glimpse into Tenerife’s rich cultural heritage, with its traditional Canarian houses, lush vineyards, and warm hospitality.
In Costa Adeje, you may expect to experience the lively atmosphere of this popular tourist destination.
The beaches there were pristine where the water are inviting. Indeed the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the island’s laid-back vibe.
Buses on the island are rather slow and less frequent, unpredictable in another word. If you are looking for chilling kind of vibe it shouldn’t be a biggie. Or rent a car if you fancy less hassle!
My time in Tenerife was nothing short of magical. The island’s diverse landscapes and activities provided endless opportunities for adventure and discovery.
Travel can always teach one to embrace the thrill of new experiences and to appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds us. So, if you’re looking for a destination that offers a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty, Tenerife should be at the top of your list. Trust me, the stars have a lot to teach you, and the journey is well worth it, so keep traveling until your last breath 😉
