Since the personal statement is one of the most important deciding factor to gain admission on any UK higher education institute, I thought I will share some of my experiences and also include tips on how to write the perfect one.
My first step was to list down the things needed to include in my statement after a very intensive research over the Internet.
I made the following lists for my reference which is an ideal way to start working towards writing a successful statement:

• List of what to include in my personal statement
• List of the why I’m passionate about the subject I want to study
• List of the ways I can justify my passion towards the subject
• Bullet points of my strength
• List of my achievements

After listing the points that were about make the main body of the statement, I started to think about the following:

• The structure of my personal statement
• Certificates needed to prove my achievements
• Who will be proof reading my statement and how many people
• How to start creating drafts

Think about the Objectives you would like to meet with the university.

The best personal statement will be a result of about 5-10 drafts that were filtered again and again.

After creating the foundation of the statement, it is time to approach a different mode of operation to make your statement stand out.

Admission tutors will probably have about a hundred of personal statements on their desk, so if you want yours to be noticed, an extra effort is needed.

THE DO’S:
1. Start strong: with a powerful opening sentence
2.Instead of piling it all in one big paragraph, write well-structured paragraphs, so that experience, additional qualification, aspirations etc are clearly elucidated.
3.Personal statements should be original, to make sure that what you write reflects who you are as an individual.
4.Universities want to know about the skills you learnt and the attributes you gained which are transferable to the course.
5.Check it… again, and again, and again! Make sure that the grammar, spelling and punctuation are perfect before submission.
6.How you’ve gone above and beyond the curriculum to demonstrate your interest in the subject (for example, books you’ve read, taster sessions you’ve attended).
THE DONT’S
1.Being Negative

4.Lying or exaggerating
5.Repeating the same info which can always be found in your application from
6.Including irrelevant details
7.Using very long sentences
8.It has been proved that statements with a lot of sentences using “I” seem less appealing to the reader. So, use replacing words.
The exemplary personal statement will have academic-related text on 75% of the content and extracurricular interests and experiences in 25% of the content.

So, take a deep breathe, find a quite place and expect to devote several hours to write a winning personal statement !
