こんにちは！ もう前期9週目も終わりのサリー大学です。私のコースでは11日提出のグループレポートが2つあって……なかなか難しいところです。やっぱりグループレポートには、コミュニケーション面でも英語面でも鍛えられますね。私は英語力では周りに負担をかけている……のですが、そのぶん「こういう言い回しをすればいいのか」と気づくことも多いです。
と、今回も勉強のことは置いておいて (これを現実逃避と言う。)、今日はHyper Japanについて書いていこうと思います！ 2017年冬のHyper Japanは11月24日〜26日にあったのですが、私は24日金曜日に行ってきました！ 色々見てきたことを項目別にまとめていきます。
Today I am writing about the trip to Hyper Japan, having happened in London last week! The event itself was from 24 to 26 November, and I went there on last Friday, 24th. (And today, I will try to write in English as well)
Hyper Japanとは？/What is Hyper Japan?
ロンドンで夏と冬、年2回開催されている日本文化イベントです。会場は年によって違うようですが、今回はTobacco Dock。
Tobacco Dockはロンドンの中心よりは少し東、ロンドン塔から徒歩23分(Google Map情報)の場所に位置しています。最寄りのShadwell駅は、ゾーン1寄りのゾーン2。こんな感じの雰囲気でした！
Hyper Japan is a Japanese culture event held in London twice a year. The venue this time was Tobacco Dock, just east of the central London.
グッズ/Goods
まずお店は、和物からアニメグッズまで日本の物がたくさんでした！ 箸やお茶碗などの伝統的な物から、浴衣、日本のお菓子、サンリオグッズ、アニメ・漫画キャラのグッズまで色々。
There were a variety of goods from traditional Japanese ones to Anime stuff, for example, Chopsticks, Yukata, Japanese snacks, Sanrio goods, Anime goods!!
日本のお菓子は、よく見るポッキーから、昔懐かしい缶の飴まで！ 色んなフレーバーのキットカットが小売になっていました。しかし高い……
For Japanese snacks, there were not only the ones I often see in the UK, but also retro ones. They were very expensive (maybe for me who know the price in Japan), but it was nice to see many Japanese snacks.. I miss them.
アニメや漫画の本やグッズでは、ユーリ‼︎!からセーラームーン、ラブライブ、ジョジョ、Re: ゼロ、ヘタリア、黒執事まで色々なものを見ました。初音ミクとか神威がくぽなんてのも見たような気がします。安定のジブリも至る所で見ました！ トトロとカオナシ関連が多かった気がするような。もちろんポケモン関連のぬいぐるみもたくさん見ました。
For Anime/Comic goods, I saw Yuri!!! , Sailor Moon, Love Live, JOJO’s, Re: Zero, Hetalia, Black Battler etc… Yeah there were also vocaloido goods. And yes, Gibli stuffs were there as well! And also a lot of pokemon goods.
食べ物/Food
それから、日本食の屋台がたくさんありました！ たこ焼き、焼きそば、牛丼……私は牛丼を食べました。
For the food, there were many kinds of Japanese food: Takoyaki, Yakisoba, Gyu-don (beef donburi)etc. I had a bawl of beef donburi.
£7.5とすごく高いのですが、紅生姜まで入っていて、日本を感じます。美味しかった。久々にちゃんと日本っぽい美味しいものを食べた気がします。
It was as expensive as £7.5!! But the donburi had garlic and spice as well, which is very Japanese style, so I loved it so much.
パフォーマンス/Performance
また、色んなパフォーマンスもありました！
The event also had several performances!
書道のパフォーマンス。こういうパフォーマンスを見るのは実は初めてのことで、まさかロンドンで見ることになるとは……
たくさんの人が見ていました！
The first one I saw was calligraphy performance. The performer used large brush to write on a large paper! Actually, it was the first time for me to see such a big calligraphy performance in real (not on TV).
そして、ゆるキャラ・にしこくんも！
Nishiko-kun performed there as well!! Nishiko-kun is a yuru-chara of West Kokubunji, in Tokyo. (Yes in Japan, every town/city is now having its own yuru-chara, and Nishiko-kun is said to be the most popular one among the characters in Tokyo)
にしこくんの存在は知っていたのですが、何で東京都No.1なんだろうと思っていたら……ダンスがすごいですね！ 見ていて楽しかった。
いや、にしこくんを見るのは実は初めてのことで、まさかロンドン(以下略
日本の外に出るからこそ出会う日本文化も多いのかなという雑感でした。
I had actually only known his name until that time, although I am from Tokyo. But I now know the reason of he being popular..his dance was so fun to watch.
その他、Karate Shinboku Kaiという空手親睦会(日本語の良い説明が思いつかなくてそのまま書いてます)のパフォーマンスもあったり、ロンドンで日本なパフォーマンスをこんなに見られるなんて！ と感動していました。
コスプレ/Cosplay
会場を歩いていて楽しかったのが、周りの人のコスプレを見ること。私自身は何もしていなかったのですが、周りを見ると気合を入れて着飾っている人もたくさんでした。
And in Hyper Japan, I also enjoyed watching people in Cosplay.
Kawaii服で纏めている人や、全身サンリオグッズで可愛く着飾っている人、キャラクターのコスプレをしている人も！ JKの格好をしているヨーロッパな見た目の人もたくさん見ました。中には男の人っぽい人もいて、すごいなぁと思っていました。楽しい。
I actually saw many people doing Cosplay: Kawaii fashion, Sanrio fashion, Anime character fashion.. and yes, high school girl fashion (JK fashion)!
提灯/Paper lantern
綺麗な提灯のコーナーも！ 金魚の提灯です。
And there were goldfish lanterns!!
They were so cute.
それからこんな行灯を飾った部屋もありました。手を叩くと灯りが点いたり消えたり……みたいなものもあって、面白かったです。
The other room displays different paper lanterns. The yellow one was very interesting; when you clapped your hand, it would switch off/on.
と、以上、とても楽しみました！ 日本文化が凝縮されているような感じというか、日本ではあまり触れることのなかったものにも出会えて良かったです。ロンドンの近くに留学される際には是非一度訪れてみてください！
So, yes, I really enjoyed Hyper Japan!! There were variety of stuff about Japan; it was a good opportunity for me to see Japanese culture, some of which I don’t see in everyday life (such as Calligraphy performance). If you are interested in Japanese culture, I would recommend you to go there once:)
