The paper “On a class of Hill’s equations having explicit solutions“, by Michele Bartuccelli, Guido Gentile (Roma III) and James Wright has been accepted for publication in Applied Mathematics Letters. In the paper they present a class of Hill’s equations possessing explicit solutions through elementary functions. In addition some applications are provided by using some of the paradigmatic systems of classical dynamics, such as the pendulum with variable length. The theory in the paper carries over mutatis mutandis to the nonlinear case. The accepted final-form version can be found here.
