Tom Bridges has been elected chair of the SIAM activity group on Nonlinear Waves and Coherent Structures (NWCS), with effect from 1st January 2015 for a two-year term of office.  This activity group organizes the biennial SIAM Conference on Nonlinear Waves & Coherent Structures, awards the Martin Kruskal Prize, maintains a website and email list, and promotes research activity in nonlinear waves.
