Congratulations to Hayley O’Farrell for passing her PhD viva today (Wednesday 25 November). The title of her thesis is “Temporal modelling of disease outbreaks using state space and delay differential equations“, and the project was supervised by Janet Godolphin and Stephen Gourley at Surrey, and co-supervised by Mark Arnold at APHA. The project was sponsored by EPSRC and APHA (Animal and Plant Health Agency). At the viva, the external examiner was Chris Robertson (Strathclyde) and the internal examiner was Anne Skeldon.
