The article “An inequality for the matrix pressure function and applications“, authored by Ian Morris, will be published in the October 2016 issue of the journal Advances in Mathematics.  A link to the published paper is here and a link to the arXiv version is here.  In 1988 Kenneth Falconer gave an exact formula for the Hausdorff dimension of a typical self-affine fractal. Falconer’s formula is defined in terms of the Lyapunov exponents of the matrices which form the linear parts of the affine transformations. In this article it is proved that Falconer’s dimension formula is a computable function of the matrix entries.
