Lord Hunt of Chesterton visited the department today (19 July) to discuss connections between some of his recent work on scaling of straining motions in homogeneous isotropic turbulence and Ian Roulstone‘s work with Jock McOrist and Martin Wolf on vorticity/strain imbalances and complex geometry.  During the day, Julian will also visit SSTL on behalf of his company Cambridge Environmental Consultants.  The photo left shows Julian in discussion with Satoru Komori (Kyoto) at a conference last autumn.
