Professor Steve Schochet, from the School of Mathematical Sciences at Tel Aviv University, visited the department this week (week of 11 February) as part of the project team on the Leverhulme-funded project on Mathematical analysis of *near resonance* in the physical world of finiteness.  Bin Cheng, leader of the Leverhulme project, was host for the visit.  During the visit Steve gave a talk in the DSPDE Seminar on Wednesday 13 February with the title “Three-scale singular limits“.  A link to Steve’s homepage is here.
