Sergey Zelik has been awarded the title of “Thousand Talents Plan Distinguished Professor” by the Chinese government’s Thousand Talents Program.  The award is accompanied by approximately 5 Million RMB for research expenditure. The grant runs for 3 years and Sergey will spend 6 months of each year at Lanzhou University.  He is setting up a sequence of conferences, the first of which will be in July on “Infinite-dimensional dynamics and Atrractors“, the second in August 2019, and then a major conference in summer 2020.  The photo above shows Sergey at a ceremony in January at Lanzhou University, and the photo below left shows Sergey in Pekin with Alexei Ilyin.
