Naratip Santitissadeekorn (co-I) is part of a Surrey team led by Dr Alex Hagen-Zanker (PI) and including Dr Susan Hughes (co-I), both in Engineering at Surrey, that has been awarded a NERC grant as part of the new UKRI programme on Landscape Decisions: Towards a new framework for using land assets. Their project is “A Bayesian approach to complex land use change modelling“. It proposes to address the fundamental challenge of parameter estimation of cellular automata models for land management using approximate Bayesian computation with Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods. The project has been awarded £50K, it runs for one year, and it begins on 1st August 2019.
