Tom Bridges was in Germany last week (14-19 July) participating in the programme “Mathematical Theory of Water Waves” held at the Mathematisches Institut Oberwolfach. MFO is in the south of Germany near the village of Wolfach in the Black Forest.  At the workshop, Tom gave a talk on “Variational principles for time-dependent water waves with vorticity“.  The photo left shows the MFO complex.
