Dan Hill has been selected as one of the finalists for the 2021 IMA Lighthill-Thwaites Prize. The prize is awarded biannually to an outstanding PhD student nearing completion, and is based on a submitted piece of work that describes an aspect of the candidate’s original research in any area of the application of mathematics and is suitable for presentation at the BAMC. The prize will be awarded at the 2021 British Applied Mathematics Colloquium to be held in Glasgow in April. Dan’s PhD project is supervised by Dave Lloyd and Matt Turner. The paper on which the prize is based can be found here.
