Andrew Lorenc, Senior Research Fellow at the UK Met Office and Visiting Professor at the University of Surrey, has been elected an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society. The announcement is on the RMS website (link here). Prof Lorenc is a collaborator of Ian Roulstone and contributed to one of Surrey’s Impact Case Studies in REF 2021. Professor Lorenc has been the UK’s leading expert in data assimilation for numerical weather prediction, and one of the leading experts in the world in this field. His scholar.google page is here.
