Vaibhav Gautam is in Japan until the 23rd June visiting RIKEN (link here). During his visit he gave a talk on “Matrix Entanglement“, first at the University of Tokyo on 7 June, and secondly at RIKEN on the 16th June. RIKEN is Japan’s largest comprehensive research institution, and Vaibhav visited the Quantum computing branch in Kyoto. During his visit, Vaibhav received training in the art of the samurai. Apparently this training is required at RIKEN before talks in order to fend off awkward questioning …. Further photos and samurai training of Vaibhav can be found here (link one and link two).
